Sitting right in front of the fire place
feeling my face getting as hot and reddish as the flame of the fire log
I don't need anything to mull over but my own existence
as a biological being still alive,
as a philosophical entity still thinking with some level of sophistication,
and as an emotional animal still feeling & believing in 
the ridiculously high state of energy of falling in love with something or somebody.. :p

이 곳의 친구들.. :p , 어느해 크리마스 전전날.. :-)

It was a decent start at the Irish Pub, Dora Keogh..

with just a couple of glasses of beers for me and Scotch for Jim.

Then we went to Detroit where our friend Chris was running the place..

And I started to try Jinns & Scotch as well as beers.

The intoxication process was quite fast & stunningly effective.. :p

Finally we joined again at the Pub of Auld Spot

and enjoyed dishes of natural oysters with another series of drinks.. drinks and more drinks.. 

Sharing year end spirit with lovely ladies sitting beside us..

I like the fresh natural oysters in Auld Spot
with lemon drops and hot sauce of Tabasco on it..

Lunch time Jazz.. luckily enough.., 도라키오 댄포스 거리 토론토

가끔 운이 좋으면 왕족같은 점심을 즐길 수 있다.
나름 토론토 최고의 재즈 팀의 연주를 홀로 감상하며..

단,
용감하게 홀로 테이블에 앉아 가벼운 점심을 먹으며
그 연조 깊은 뮤지션들의 세션을 대할 뻔뻔한 배짱은 있어야 한다.
아님, 체할 게 분명하니.. ㅎ

과거 왕정 시대에서는 왕가나 고위 귀족들마다 전용 음악가 집단을 거느리고 있었지만
오늘에 와서야 포악한 독재자들이나 돈이 넘쳐 주체를 못하는 부호들을 제외하고
일반 민초들이 홀로 아무렇지도 않은 듯 우적 우적 음식을 씹어가면서
격조 높은 음악을 대할 수 있는 상황은 전혀 흔하지 않은거다. ㅎ

for my lonely luncheon session.. :p



콘트라 베이스 연주자이자 팀의 리더인 이 아리리쉬 뮤지션은 그 포스가 장난이 아니다.

익살스럽게 클래식 소품 가락을 살짝 들려주기도 하지만
세션을 하는 그의 무습은 매우 진중하면서 권위가 가득하다.

깃털만 꼽으면 윌리엄 텔 일 것 같은 멋진 모자도 그의 장중한 콘트라 베이스 음에 잘 어울렸다.

soup was quite fit for my taste

as Tony, the cook, recommended..

and it went well with the multi-grain bread..

라어이슨 대학 교수이기도 한 피아니스트는 쿠바 출신의 뮤지션인데
항상 과묵하지만 현란한 improvise를 구사한다.

이들의 연주는 두세번 접했었는데 오늘은 우연찮게 다른 손님들이 전혀 없었던 관계로
이들은 날 앉혀 놓고 신나게 그들의 세션을 즐겼다.

난 가끔씩 찾아오는 이런 예기치 않은 즐거움도 좋고
이곳의 주방장 아이리쉬 토니의 간단하지만 깔끔하고 오묘한 허브향의 음식도 좋고
그저 편하게 기네스를 즐길수 있어 좋고,
적당히 어두운 이곳에서 별 다른 생각없이 맥주를 홀짝거리며 책을 읽는 것도 좋고..

그리 그리 적당한 이유가 많아 이곳 아리리쉬 펍 '도라키오'가 좋지 않을 수 없다.
