what I liked most.. in Seoul, 청계천 Seoul Korea Jul 27 2009

yes.. i was soaking & letting my feet a good rest
in the creek in the middle of downtown Seoul..
and watching the rainbow colored male fishes playing around..


서울 방문 중 내가 가장 좋아했던 것은
청계천에 발을 담그고 쉬는 것이었다.
무지개 색 숫놈 피라미들 보는 건 또 얼마나 즐거웠던지..

청계천에 발을 담그는 게 뭐 대수일까.

지하철의 지하수를 끌어 모아 청계천 시작 지점에서 흐르게 한 지극히 인공적 환경일 뿐인데..

하지만, 이곳 청계천 주변의 예전 모습을 잘 알고 있는 내게는,

푸른 물의 시내 라는 이름과는 전혀 반대되는 모습으로 시멘트로 복개된 채 

반 백년 세월, 햇살 한번 받지 못했던 이곳을 시내 나들이때면 서성거려 본 사람이라면..

참 반갑고 반가울 것이다.

이제, 한국의 어느 계곡, 어느 강가에서다 이보다 맑고 깨끗한 물을 찾을 수 있다. 

캐나다의 어느 호수나 강을 가도 이보다 더 생명력 넘치는 물로 가득하다.

하지만, 서울 광화문 거리 한복판에서 시작하는 이 도시 생태계의 원류를 형성하며 흐르는 청계천 물보다

신기하기도 하고 감동적이기까지 할 수는 없는 것이다.

청계천.. 참 반갑고 즐거웠다.

At that time while I drove down the beach side road, I was so hungry for sashimi, i.e. raw fish, I just caught a couple of decent size of fishes in the ocean.

Lunch over the Volcanic Lake - Laguna, Masaya Nicaragua 2005

While I was waiting for my dishes of Deep Fried Fish,
I was watching the great laguna which has been formed by the active volcanic activies.
What I first saw was the very black terrain surrounding the volanic lake.
It was the callous lava. Actually I was getting back from the active volcano of Masaya which fumes sulfide smokes and from time to time the volcano vomits fire balls of huge rocks far down to the villages located few kilometers away.
